Q. Can you tell me the cost for servicing my BMW?

A. The cost of a service will vary between dealerships and model. Therefore we suggest that you contact an approved BMW Dealership that will be able to quote on the prices for servicing. BMW do offer Service Inclusive available on all new BMWs. For an initial cost you cover the cost of servicing your vehicle for a specified time of 3 years/36,000 miles or 5 years/60,000 Miles.

Q. Can you tell me the recommended tyre pressures for my car?
|
A. Tyre pressures are very important to the handling characteristics of your vehicle. You must ensure that these are checked regularly in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. Please refer to the plaque on the inside of the driver's door pillar, which will indicate the tyre pressures for your particular vehicle. Alternatively, consult your local BMW Dealership for assistance.

Q. Can you tell me which oil I should use in my BMW?

A. BMW recommend Castrol. Check the owner's manual, which will indicate the correct oil grade to be used in your vehicle. Alternatively, contact the Parts Department at your local BMW Dealership, who will be able to supply the correct oil for your vehicle.

Q. How can I de-activate the airbag on my BMW?
|
A. You will need to book your BMW into your nearest BMW Dealership, where they will be able to de-activate it on your behalf. You can find your nearest dealer by using the " Find a dealer" link.

Q. Can you tell me BMW's recommendation for children sitting in the front passenger seat?

A. BMW recommend that children should always be seated in the rear of the vehicle. The child should be over 12 years old and a minimum of 4' 10 to sit in the front passenger seat. If you nevertheless need to fit a child restraint system on the front passenger's seat, the front passenger's airbag must be deactivated. Please contact the Service Department at your local dealership for further assistance.

Q. If I secure a child seat in the rear, do I have to deactivate the rear-side airbags?
|
A. The BMW child seats are designed to use the ISOFIX attachments. If the child seat is fitted correctly using the ISOFIX attachments, then there is no need to have the rear side airbags deactivated. However, these can be deactivated if required. Please contact the Service Department at your local dealership for further assistance.
